Proof-reading
After re-reading my previous post, I found it funny that I made so many mechanical mistakes! I teach writing and language arts!!!! I am always talking about how important it is to RE-READ and correct your mistakes! My students get sick of me talking about it. However, I did not follow my own advice. I did my work in a hurry and posted it without proof-reading. Let's take a moment and reflect..... how many things do you preach to your students, but do not follow. Part of our job is to be a role model, yet I would not want my students to read my last few posts.

Isn't it funny how that happens? I think about that all the time! It's the worst when the kids catch some kind of mistake, but guess what? We all make them! Reading and re-reading in something like a blog (or a comment post) does not seem as natural as something like an essay! Blogging seems much more like a diary entry, so no worries! Just keep sharing! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is very funny how that happens! I will also catch myself writing on my students' papers "Your work was messy and hard to read" Then I realize that my comment that I just wrote to them was also MESSY and hard to read! So I have to white it out and re-write it : )
ReplyDelete@Heather --> The good news is that you can go back and edit post for typos later. I cannot stand when I find a typo on my classroom blog. I try to be careful when I put anything out there for my students but once in a while I have to go back in and 'edit a post'. No biggie though.
ReplyDelete@Mr. Smith --> You are not alone my friend. After correcting math tests for 4 hours or so I sometimes wonder what happens to my own handwriting when I am leaving comments.
